Cabinet du Dr Benjamin Pulvermacker, chirurgien esthétique à Paris 16

Plastic and aesthetic surgeon in Paris 16 — Dr Benjamin Pulvermacker

Dr Benjamin Pulvermacker is a plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon, holding the exclusive qualification awarded by the French Medical Council. He consults at 14 rue Pétrarque, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, and operates in facial surgery, breast surgery, body contouring and non-surgical aesthetic medicine.

This site is an information site. It does not replace a consultation: only the meeting between a patient and their surgeon makes it possible to establish an indication, its objectives and its limits.

An approach built on a natural result

My main objective is to obtain a natural result. I like those close to my patients to notice a change without being able to attribute it to surgery.

This means refusing the standardised result. A successful operation is not one that applies a technique: it is one that respects the morphology, the quality of the tissues and the personality of the person operated on. Only on that condition does the concern fade for good and self-confidence return.

It also means knowing how to say no. When a request cannot be met without distorting a face or a figure, I explain this in consultation rather than operate.

Which procedures are performed at the practice?

Facial aesthetic surgery

Facial ageing combines skin laxity, a downward migration of the fat compartments and a change in the eyes. The cervicofacial lift re-tensions the tissues of the face and neck; eyelid surgery brightens the gaze. Rhinoplasty and otoplasty correct features felt to be unsightly, regardless of age.

Aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery

Breast surgery covers augmentation with implants or lipofilling, the treatment of ptosis, breast reduction, the correction of tuberous breasts and asymmetries, as well as reconstruction after mastectomy. Some of these procedures fall under reconstructive surgery and may be eligible for reimbursement.

Body contouring surgery

Liposuction treats localised fat deposits that resist diet and physical activity. Abdominoplasty, arm lift and thigh lift correct skin laxity that has appeared after pregnancy, significant weight loss, or simply with time.

Non-surgical aesthetic medicine

Injections of botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid treat expression lines and loss of volume without surgery. Used without excess, they can postpone a surgical procedure and usefully complement certain operations.

What happens at a first consultation?

The first consultation lasts as long as it takes for you to set out your request, your history and your expectations. I then examine the area concerned, and explain what is achievable, what is not, and why.

We cover: the technique or techniques that can be considered, where the scars will be, the type of anaesthesia, the length of hospital stay, the expected recovery, how long the result takes to appear, and the risks. You are given a detailed written quotation and the SoFCPRE information leaflets.

French law requires a fifteen-day reflection period between the quotation being issued and aesthetic surgery being performed. A second pre-operative consultation, at no charge, allows you to ask again any question left unanswered.

Frequently asked questions

How can you check that an aesthetic surgeon is genuinely qualified?

The qualification in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery is awarded by the French Medical Council and can be verified on the website of the National Council. The title of « aesthetic surgeon » is not in itself protected: it is the Council qualification, not the wording, that attests to the training.

Is aesthetic surgery reimbursed?

Purely aesthetic procedures are not covered. Certain reconstructive procedures — breast reduction, reconstruction after mastectomy, tuberous breasts, Poland syndrome, gynaecomastia, sequelae of major weight loss — may be, subject to conditions and prior authorisation.

How long before an operation?

A statutory fifteen-day reflection period applies between the quotation being issued and aesthetic surgery being performed. No deposit may be requested during this period.
