Fat grafting restores the volumes of the face by reinjecting the patient's own fat, harvested by micro-liposuction. The photographs below show results obtained after restoring the cheekbones, the temples or the nasolabial fold.
The graft takes over three months, and the final result is judged after six months. Part of the transferred fat is resorbed during the first weeks: this is an expected phenomenon, which the surgeon takes into account at the time of injection. A second session is sometimes necessary to perfect the result.
Every face ages differently, and the quantity of fat available varies from one person to another. These photographs illustrate real results; they do not predict the one that might be obtained in another situation.
How to read these fat grafting photographs
Fat grafting restores volume where it is lacking: look at the transition zones, between the cheekbone and the cheek, beneath the eye, at the temples. A good result does not look like an addition: the face looks rested, with no visible contour where the fat was injected.
The method uses no foreign body and leaves no insertion scar: the fat is harvested by micro-liposuction and then reinjected. The main local risks are an insufficient result and irregularities, which can be corrected by a touch-up.
