How to read these neck liposuction photographs
The landmark is the angle between the neck and the chin: in profile, it should become sharp again, with a well-defined jawline. In three-quarter view, compare the area beneath the chin, where excess fat blurs the jawline and creates a double chin.
Liposuction acts on fat alone: it relies on the skin retracting, guided by the compression garment. When the skin is too lax to retract, a neck and facelift should be considered instead. Swelling masks the result during the first weeks; it is assessed at six months, and any touch-up is not considered before twelve months.
